Mooring Solutions
Haibao develops custom mooring solutions for each aquaculture client based on their unique combination of sea conditions and fish pen configuration. Our engineering team works closely with client management and offshore teams to build safe, secure mooring systems to protect the farm's end-product investment.
Mooring Solution Considerations
Our engineering team develops a finite element simulation model that allows us to quantify engineering safety factors and easily review modifications or future enhancements. Important business considerations include capacity needs and configuration, lease area restrictions, insurance requirements, and growth and operating plans. Site conditions are also an important input to the simulation model, including current speeds and predominant direction, bathymetry data, and substrate make-up.
Haibao Mooring Solutions
Haibao mooring solutions include grid systems, which organize multiple fish pens into grid cells for reduced anchoring costs and more structured operations. Grid systems are typically organized laterally to predominant currents to optimize water exchange and can be easily extended as the farm grows. SeaStations can also be mooring individually through single or multi-point solutions.
Haibao Mooring Solutions
Haibao moorings are integrated directly into the fish pen design, helping to reduce overall infrastructure costs. Lateral and longitudinal anchors are attached directly to the corner spars of the fish pen. Lateral anchors can also be added to transitional spars between connected pens when necessary. AquaSpar fish pens are anchor-tensioned for shape and compensation buoys are typically used to define a range of motion for surfacing and submerging. |
